Toy Town cops given power under Smith’s Stasi Strategy

Once upon a time even police officers couldn’t demand your name and detail if you were going about business that wasn’t illegal. Back in the heady days when Brits enjoyed a basic standard of civil liberties that you might expect. How times have changed, now Jacqui Smith wants to grant a whole raft of legal powers to minor officials. Such powers include handing out fixed penalty notices, without someone ever being tried and arrested. It also allows these people to collect details that could be added onto the National Police Database or any new Identity card related databases. Whereas police officers have to undergo years of training these officials can get accreditation for a few hundred quid, thus empowering toy town cops and sad wannabe authoritarians all over the nation. If any of these idiots ever tries to give me a fine I’ll tell them to fuck off, I suggest that you do the same.
